AT&T has historically been a cash cow. The last time AT&T suffered a lose was the third quarter of 2024 for a lose of $174 million. The first quarter of 2026 AT&T pulled in $31.5 billion in revenue with an operating cost $24.8 Billion. After tax and dividends and any final adjustments the total profit is around $5.5 billion.  One factor  that contributes to AT&T stock price which currently at $21.95, is the looming fear that satellite competitors are potentially going to cut into its AT&T marketshare. As technology emerges and AI potentially automates processes, traditional services and features become less appealing and costlier than the potential of satellite communications especially in the wireless space.

With the IPO of SPACE X recently launched and the capital being raised on orbit based facilities versus the traditional terrestrial based equipment becomes a much more of an appealing investment with huge expansion. The real question for our business, will AT&T get into partnerships with Companies like SPACEX or AST space mobile to get in on what seems like the future of telecoms and DATA? What will that mean here for us? What type of jobs and technology and training will be required to be on the cutting edge so we can stay relevant in an ever expanding world? Very inserting times for sure.
